We met with all of the grade five students to discuss ideas for our social justice project. This year, we are going to make a difference by using our time to create items for other people. We decided that we are going to crochet blankets and hats for babies and/or children in hospitals or shelters.
Last Wednesday, the classes got to work. Learning the basic stitches and exploring how to work with the yarn and crochet hooks. It was a fantastic start! We will post updates of our creations.
How can you support? If you would like to make a donation to our class, we are collecting 100% acrylic yarn. This is soft for babies and is non-allergenic. If you know how to crochet and would like to come into our class to be an "expert" we would greatly appreciate your help!
